Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Architect for a full time position in the Sarasota, Florida area. Successful candidate will have both industrial design and government project experience.
Responsibilities:
- Engages in and directs activities associated with planning, design, and construction documents including code analysis documents, studies, reports, sketches, schematic drawings, renderings, specifications, final contract documents, and as-built drawings
- Along with the Project Manager and other design professionals, communicates with clients to establish project scope of work, building program needs, design fees, project schedule and budgets
- Prepares architectural staffing plans
- Assists Leadership with business growth planning and actively engages in project pursuits
- Develops Technical and Price proposals in pursuit of new work for the Building Engineering Department
- Develops project scopes, schedules and budgets
- Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure, site or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time
- Plans layout of project and integrates architectural elements into unified design for client review and approval
- Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors
- Administers advertisement and bidding activities for clients, reviews submittals, answers Requests for Information, reviews pay applications and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans
- Oversees the preparation of plans using computer assisted design software and equipment
- Performs Quality Control Reviews
- Maintains working knowledge of current industry software including Revit and BIM
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- BS/BA Architecture; Bachelor of Architecture; or MS/MA Architecture (4-6 Year Degree), with initial licensure as a Registered Architect (RA)
- NCARB Certification
- LEED BD+C or Guiding Principles Certification preferred
- 10+ year of experience in the design and documentation of architecture projects
- Design talent, graphic presentation, and effective visual/verbal communication skills
- Possess a proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and constructors
- Excellent English language skills, written and verbal
- Demonstrated proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM)[Autodesk Revit Architecture], AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
- Experience with graphics/rendering software to quickly and effectively communicate ideas is preferred
