Role Overview

We’re seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our Jacksonville fleet—bulldozers, cranes, excavators, loaders, and haul trucks—running safely and efficiently. You’ll handle inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance while ensuring all work meets OSHA and company safety standards.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical).

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance within set timelines.

• Diagnose root causes of operating issues and implement effective fixes.

• Complete component rebuilds and perform field service calls as needed.

• Document all work orders, parts used, and repair notes with accuracy.

• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety protocols.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (construction or heavy civil preferred).

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

• Ability to read/interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders.

• Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Certification in heavy equipment mechanics or diesel technology is a plus.

• Bonus: Valid Florida driver’s license; CDL and OSHA 10/30 a plus; own basic tools.
