Job Description
Job Title: Commercial Litigation Attorney: Troy, MI
Job Description:
- Represent clients in commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and business disputes.
- Handle all aspects of the litigation process, from initiation to resolution.
- Conduct legal research, develop case strategies, and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Appear in court, attend hearings, and argue on behalf of clients.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
- Keep abreast of legal developments and changes in the law related to commercial litigation.
- Maintain accurate and timely billing records.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and professional responsibility rules.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a diverse caseload and work independently.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment.
- Client-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation.
