Job Description
We are looking for a Civil CAD Designer/Drafter for a position in the Greater Tampa, Florida area. The CAD Designer is an experienced professional with a background in the design and preparation of construction drawings using civil 3d and/or MicroStation software for both public and private projects. They will also compile project manuals, prepare permit applications and interact with clients and government agencies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical
- Design preliminary layouts from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes
- Prepare engineering drawings for review and submittal.
- Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; reviewing own work for completeness and accuracy
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information per our company policies and procedures
- Produce drawing and document packages
- Provide assistance with other CAD related tasks as directed
- Work with other CAD Team Members, Project Managers, and Project Engineers to understand scope of work, schedule, and budget
- Follow technical aspects and policies of the Department and Company
- Analyze technical problems; devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions; and communicate those to supervisor for approval and implementation
- Use company’s current technology as much as practicable to design projects
- Participate in scheduled Team meetings and, as needed, project meetings
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
- Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented
- Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn

- Demonstrate personal investment in your career
- Energetic, flexible, and forward thinking
- High School Diploma
Preferred qualifications include:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GEOPAK experience
- Associate’s degree, related technical certificate, or equivalent experience
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications
